Mirage Camo

私たちのブログを訪問していただきありがとうございます。あなたがお持ちの場合DIYの要求は私達に電子メールを送信してください。

“Mirage”camo uniforms from Bulldog Equipment

Creating a camouflage that can be worn in any environment, regardless of location, is considered to be the “Holy Grail” of camouflage design – but many people are of the opinion that it as a fantasy. As an illustration of this view, any pattern which works well in the desert is clearly not going to work as well in a woodland environment. Even Crye admit that their MultiCam – considered by many to be the current state of the art - is not as good in some locations as its terrain-specific competitors. On the other hand, another multi-terrain pattern -”Desert All Over Brush” – was judged best overall in the Natick Soldier Center’s “universal camo” trials in 2002-2004. In the end though, the significantly inferior ”Universal Camouflage Pattern” was adopted by the Army instead.Stepping in to the fray after the adoption of UCP, Bulldog Tactical Equipment developed the Mirage Camo pattern, which integrates an extensively-researched mix of monochromatic colours from all over the world. Previously very secretive about the Mirage Camo pattern uniforms, Bulldog has now kindly provided Strike-Hold! with some further information and photographs never before seen by the general public.Mirage Camo is a pixilated, digital pattern of browns, greens, grays and clays combined in various amounts, shades and shapes. The complexity of the pattern and the selection of colors is intended to allow the uniform to work in many environments; including desert, woodland and urban terrain. The uniform closely resembles the US Army’s ACU and was designed with the help of direct soldier feedback. Improvements to make the uniform more durable than the ACU include re-designed pockets with enhanced dimensions, positioning and ease-of-use, and the use of top-notch thread and new stitch placement, in order to reinforce inherently weak areas. The first version of the uniform also included cutting-edge abrasion-resistant fabric (Superfabric) on the elbows, knees, seat and shoulder areas of the uniform.New Vented Uniform:Bulldog recently introduced a new version of the uniform which incorporates a ventilation system and the elimination of the Super Fabric reinforcing patches. Feedback received from units using the first version of the uniforms determined that creating an air flow system throughout the jacket and trousers was essential in order to reduce heat build-up.The latest version of the Mirage Camo uniform was tested in use during immediate action drills and obstacle courses at Fort Benning, GA. This testing was performed in June and July 2008, with the temperature index ranging from 95-110 degrees Fahrenheit. In order reduce heat retention, the following recent modifications have been implemented:

- removal of any material that was double layered on the jacket and trousers
- knee and elbow regions once covered with Superfabric or 500 Denier nylon are now covered with Nyco 50/50 in order to reduce heat build-up and retention
- five mesh vents have been added to the jacket: front, underarm, mid-seam, rear gussets and spinal region
- eight mesh vents have been added to the trousers: front crotch area, crotch area, rear pocket area, inseam, knee region and calf region
- crotch area is reinforced with a new design and layout
- knee pads were redesigned to reduce weight and heat retention

Since the decision to remove the Superfabric /nylon reinforcement patches, and adding the vents, the feedback from troops has been very positive. Bulldog also offers the option for users to have the uniform tailored to their unit’s or organisation’s needs and requirements for a specific arrangement of pockets. This provides far greater flexibilty and fitness-to-purpose for the down-range operator, and minimises the need for additional time or funding for carrying out modifications and alterations to standard-issue uniforms.Mirage Camo uniforms have been tested overseas, in areas such as Iraq and Afghanistan and, according to Bulldog, have had tremendous success on the battlefield. For more information on Mirage Camo uniforms and pricing visit www.miragecamo.us (note: you must have a US military .mil email address to be able to view the site, and sales are exclusive to the U.S. Military). Bulldog Tactical Equipment specialises in designing custom products for the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army Special Forces and the Department of Homeland Security. Their full product list of over 100 items includes include barrel bags, quivers, weapon slings, weapon bags, ammo bags, backpacks and other tactical gear.

Roggenwolf Camo

私たちのブログを訪問していただきありがとうございます。あなたがお持ちの場合DIYの要求は私達に電子メールを送信してください。

Since 2005, Roggenwolf™ has developed its own paradigms and techniques, based upon a sound understanding of human visual perception. Our solutions combine features which are designed to delay detection, by providing false cues to peripheral vision, with features which delay recognition, by misleading central and colour vision. One technical innovation which is unique to Roggenwolf is the proprietary Dwimor™ process, which challenges the ability of the unaided eye to focus upon a camouflage pattern at shorter ranges.

Roggenwolf WARG

Roggenwolf DACIA

Roggenwolf KUMUL2

You might recall that Roggenwolf Tiwaz™ was developed specifically as a possible answer the U.S. Army's identified need for a family of camouflage patterns. Unfortunately, we have been advised that Tiwaz™ has been eliminated from the final down-select, and will no longer be a participant in the U.S. Army camouflage improvement effort.

We know that this news will be just as disappointing to our supporters as it was to us. However, it must be said that we actually achieved more than we thought was possible, back in June; and that those achievements are largely due to the support and encouragement of our enterprise partners, Bradford Printing & Finishing, and Premier Defence Agencies.

In spite of this set-back, Roggenwolf continues to pursue other opportunities in North America, Europe, and the Asia–Pacific region. As always, our design philosophy is built upon the belief that an effective camouflage uniform not only conceals its wearer in country, but reinforces its wearer's sense of identity.

Seal of Honor

When a man finishes SEAL training and is awarded his Trident, he is also presented a knife and on it is inscribed the name of a SEAL who went before him, where he died and the date of his death. In that way the knife would link him to the past and serve as an inspiration to him in the future.

Hurricane XPS3 Holo Sight

私たちのブログを訪問していただきありがとうございます。あなたがお持ちの場合DIYの要求は私達に電子メールを送信してください。

As you might have already experienced, low quality clones have terrible lenses that are too dark to see in mid-lit environments, and even in well-lit ones. :)

However, the Hurricane’s lenses are clear and transparent. I could see clearly through them without any weird coloring or shading.

Another point I think is where many others (clones) fail is the brightness intensity of the reticle that usually is too dim for outdoors.

Being a replica of the EOTech XPS3, it is remarkably similar and it uses, like the real one, a single CR123A battery and features an O-ring, tethered cap which is quite convenient and easy to replace. According to Thunder Sports, the Hurricane is moisture resistant, so you shouldn’t worry about occasional rain, but avoid dipping it in water.

A-TACS x Ares Armor

私たちのブログを訪問していただきありがとうございます。あなたがお持ちの場合DIYの要求は私達に電子メールを送信してください。

Ares Armor is well known within the tactical community not only for functionality, versatility and quality of their customized gear, but also for the direct experience operating in the field that influences every single piece of gear they design-and now, it’s all available in A-TACS.

Ares Armor was founded by seven Marines, all with infantry combat experience with service both Iraq and Afghanistan. Combined, Ares ownership has more than 50 years of actual combat experience. Five of the seven Ares co-owners are currently still on active duty with the Marine Corps. Ares owners have held billets as Snipers, Recon, Infantry Platoon Sergeants, Infantry Squad Leaders, Infantry Team Leaders, Urban Shooting Skills Instructors, Military Operations in Urban Terrain Instructors, Infantry Combat Instructors, and Rifle Marksmanship Instructors. It is that very in depth background and familiarization with the needs of the Modern Warfighter that goes into the creation of each piece of gear they build.

Range view through an ATN PS22 HPT during a night fire exercise illustrates its versatility of being dismounted from weapon as applicable. Random ambient light sources such as weapon mounted lights and muzzle flashes put a premium on quality night vision so that images do not wash out or “bloom.”

Claw Gear Combat Shirt In Coyote Brown

私たちのブログを訪問していただきありがとうございます。あなたがお持ちの場合DIYの要求は私達に電子メールを送信してください。

A Coyote Brown combat shirt is perhaps the most neutral shirt you’ll ever have. It provides some degree of concealment and at the same time will work great with most patterns and camos, allowing you to use it with various types of loadouts. I’ve seen people wearing tan shirts with Multicam loadouts and it works great.

Backpack Radar system from SpotterRF

私たちのブログを訪問していただきありがとうございます。あなたがお持ちの場合DIYの要求は私達に電子メールを送信してください。

SpotterRF’s new backpack radar system is based around its three-pound M80 and four-pound M600C synthetic aperture radar modules. “Situational awareness at night collapses around you and NVGs limit a sentry’s field of view,” says SpotterRF CEO Logan Harris. “That’s why coupling ground based radar with imaging into a backpack unit is such a potent force multiplier.”

The micro radar system uses a pair of radar pods that provide a 180-degree field of coverage out to 1,000 meters. In addition to the two hard bound-book-sized radar units, the system includes a similarly sized networking module, a tablet computer used to view the radar system’s web-based output, and cables, tripod, battery and a backpack.

J-Tech E.A.T. Type Emergency Action Trunk

私たちのブログを訪問していただきありがとうございます。あなたがお持ちの場合DIYの要求は私達に電子メールを送信してください。

The Emergency Action Trunk (E.A.T.) from J-Tech Gear is a huge rolling equipment bag. At 135L, it's large enough to hold more than most people can lift. It was originally designed as a deployment bag for military personnel but can be used as a 'hold everything' bag for avid shooters alike. The E.A.T. bag is more than a rolling duffle; it has much more organization than a simple duffle, to segregate and organize your gear.

Eagle Industries Travel Rolling Equipment Cargo bag - with pockets (TREC-W/P), as its name describes, is a large rolling equipment bag. Okay, it's a huge rolling equipment bag. The concept of duffles or rolling luggage isn't anything new. Most duffles are simple huge 'bags' with a minimum of pockets (if any). Over the past couple of years, the 'loadout' or 'deployment' bag has entered the scene, evolving from the simple duffle into something offering more organization and versatility. With body armour and sometimes the need to transport weapons, these loadout bags can become very heavy and unwieldy. Eagle's combined the loadout bag and rolling luggage concept into a package that makes hauling tactical gear around a whole lot easier. Besides being used for hauling gear and weapons, I can also see it being used for more mundane roles as a road trip bag for me and the wife to consolidate all our luggage into one.

Overall design and features - The E.A.T. bag is made of 1000D nylon, and has both external and internal pockets. It has an internal hard shell backing at the bottom, as well as aluminum tubes to ensure that the bag doesn't collapse when fully loaded. A two-section handle at the top extends and retracts, for use when the E.A.T. is rolled along. The E.A.T. has a large main compartment with internal organization, and external pockets, also with organization. High-strength nylon wheels at the bottom corner allow the E.A.T. to roll, which are necessary for a bag this large and heavy when loaded.

Back to Batangas

私たちのブログを訪問していただきありがとうございます。あなたがお持ちの場合DIYの要求は私達に電子メールを送信してください。

Searching for the few remaining Filipino balisong craftsman!

Before the arrival of spring-assisted or fully automatic pocket knives, before manufacturers started putting holes in their blades and thumb studs, there was the original one-handed opening knife. The Balisong is a folding pocket knife with two handles counter-rotating around the tang. When closed, the blade is concealed within grooves in the handles. This is loosely known as a butterfly knife.

The Filipino Balisong knife was spread around the world by American soldiers returning from World War II. Translated from Tagalog, the word “Balisong” means “broken horn,” as the original Balisongs were made from.

A town in Batangas, known as Barrio Balisong, is where legend Perfecto de Leon is credited with developing and manufacturing the first Filipino version of the Balisong knife in 1905. Since then, the Balisong has become perhaps the most infamous Filipino weapon to date. Locals in the Philippines are much more likely to carry knives than guns. Knives are commonly carried as tools by farmers and used by street vendors to prepare coconuts, pineapples, other fruits and meats. This has led to the Philippines being known as a ‘blade culture,” so much to the point that the neighboring country of Palau has a term for Filipinos: chad ra oles, which literally means “people of the knife.”

Three Batangas Balisongs from Ona’s shop. All handcrafted from 5160 spring steel and using various materials for the handle scales ranging from Kamagong wood to horse and deer bone.

This is the model AP2 made by Armand Palacio. Like the AP1, it is also made from D2 steel and features titanium handles with a very unique pattern cut into the handles, yet another stamp of Armand’s distinct style.

At the shop, Ona displays his lightning fast speed as the author’s camera struggled to capture it. He is known for his two-handed deployment of the Balisongs simultaneously. In the background hanging, many other tools can be seen that are both for sale and collectables including US bayonets and machetes.

From tactical-life
