Russian Sniper School
私たちのブログを訪問していただきありがとうございます。あなたがお持ちの場合DIYの要求は私達に電子メールを送信してください。

By 2016, they plan to finish training and staffing an effective sniper force as a part of Russian land forces. After that, all snipers will be additionally trained 3 to 4 times a year according to programs that include: counter sniper training, shooting training, working in pairs, etc.
This time we are going to show you how they train snipers, why snipers must pass psychological tests and if they are prepared enough to provide medical assistance to their wounded partner.
Snipers are provided with different types of rifles due to the wide spectrum of tasks set. Besides, each soldier is given an individual weapon, a handgun. Individual and group equipment includes: a sniper set, uniform, binocular, laser reconnaissance device and other devices.

Psychological testing consists in completing a questionnaire which lets the psychologist divide all snipers tested into four groups. Only two groups permit snipers to keep on training and have access to sniper weapons.
After that, the psychologist watches each sniper individually and, if necessary, holds special training with the sniper to improve performance (for example his determination). If correction is impossible, the sniper gets discharged from the service.

The snipers should be able to make prompt decisions and establish priorities, be determined, brave, and self-possessed.
Sergeant Velmatkin. After demobilization, he decided to return to the army and become a sniper. And he succeeded.

Snipers should be able to make a camouflage suit by material at hand by themselves. Of course, they could buy one in a specialized store but, according to the officers, they all need additional work and moreover, they are not that cheap. Each suit costs approximately 200$ which is rather expensive for a contract sergeant.

Snipers practicing their skills in camouflaging their firing positions.
Really bad weather conditions (melting snow and rain) made the task even more difficult.
Old armed military hardware is a great place for a sniper’s firing position. Often, they use stubs, both real and artificial.

The sniper lies down on the all-weather raincoat and his companion covers him with twigs and snow. In this position, the sniper may spend from several hours to several days. They say that it is not that cold in winter and if you light a candle in there, it gets even warmer.

This fake sniper is equipped with a micro mirror which can emit specks of light to attract the attention of the enemy sniper who, by opening fire, may betray his location.

Snipers are considered the elite troops in the army and it is very important that those who train to be a sniper were self-interested, apart from disciplined and skilled. Best snipers are decorated with a chevron, a pride of each sniper.

Does your mancave needs more Beard?
私たちのブログを訪問していただきありがとうございます。あなたがお持ちの場合DIYの要求は私達に電子メールを送信してください。

So, why draw Costa? Why not. JK’s earlier work “Spirit of a Warrior” features a badass with a Spartan-looking shadow. Turning to Costa, the man has a gladiator fetish and a following. Heck, even his Beard has a following. And, it turns out, Costa’s been looking for a way to satisfy his fans’ hunger for autographs and pictures; so here we are. JK does his thing, Costa takes care of his fans. Win-win.
JK will offer a series of seven drawings, the first of which is available today from JK’s website,www.tacticaldrawings.com, for $45. The remaining six drawings will follow at roughly 3-4 month intervals.
Costa is giving 100 percent of his proceeds to the Stars and Stripes Foundation. JK’s invested his time and talent heavily in this project. He can’t afford to donate 100 percent, so JK’s donating a portion of his proceeds to Stars and Stripes Foundation as well as his church.
I know what you’re thinking: “$45 for a drawing? Of Costa?” These are not shop wall pin-up posters. This is an 18” x 12” water-colored, pencil drawing printed on 100 pound matte paper using a digital press bearing Costa’s digital signature.
Consider all the work that went into the drawing. JK spent 20 hours researching and preparing. He made period-specific props from cardboard and found a gladiator-esque model to guide his representation of the “spirit” warrior. He roped-in Pima County Deputy Sheriff Avery Cox as the model. (As an aside, JK told me, “I feel sorry for any criminal caught by that guy.”) He added some of his own touches to the armor, but the shoulder, arm and shinguards are period-accurate, as is the shield. Russell Crowe fans may recognize the helmet is inspired by the one worn by Roman General Maximus Decimus Meridius in the film, “Gladiator.”

Libyan Optics

A few photos of optics used by the Libyan used by both sides during the Libyan Revolution.

Here’s a great shot of the G36′s combined 3x telescopic sight and 1x reflex sight optics taken in Ragdalin, Western Libya.
Photo by Carl de Souza (AFP).

This Barrett M82A1M, serial number 22750, is topped off with a BORS (Barrett Optical Ranging System) equipped Leupold 4.5–14×50 Mark 4 scope, was allegedly use by Libyan rebels. I would love to know which country supplied this gun to either the Libyan Army or to the rebels.

Romanian PSL rifles have seemed to be prevalent in Libya, and most that I have seen have been used in conjunction with I.O.R. (Întreprinderea Optică Română) LPS TIP2 telescopic sights. These 4x magnification sights have a 24mm diametre lens, and are closely modeled on Soviet/Russian PSO-1 sights.

Arctic S.W.A.T

Last frontier lawmen protect 2,000 square miles of extreme country with cutting-edge weapons and tactics!

Members of the APD S.W.A.T. sniper team blend into their arctic surroundings with MARPAT overwhites. Knight’s Armament SR-25 MK 11 rifles are their main guns.
“APD, Channel One units, respond to an 11-5 in progress at 4501 Elmore Road. Complainant advises there is a bear charging their sliding glass door.”
That’s not an everyday call, but it’s not uncommon, either, when you’re a police officer in Anchorage, Alaska. I first saw Anchorage in March of 1978. I was a few years out of the Army and was trying to get hired as an Alaska State Trooper. I was blown away that the ice on the parking lot was still 2 inches thick, there was 2 feet of snow on the ground, and that it was 16 degrees. It was offset by the fact that I was in Alaska.

Anchorage officers are cross-trained to handle many duties. Strong community relations are a key tactic in helping to keep the peace.
Anchorage is policed by the Anchorage Police Department (APD). The Municipality of Anchorage is the largest in Alaska. The population of nearly 300,000 souls is almost half the population of the state, but 90 percent of the state’s residents use Anchorage as their transportation, shopping and recreation hub. Lots of rural residents come to town to see the lights, party a little too hard and need police services. Police calls are made more difficult when the temperature is -30, with a 10 mph wind blowing off the inlet. Summers are fairly short and intense; with 24 hours of daylight, Alaskans tend to ignore sleep, knowing they can catch up in December. It can result in long, hard workdays for the APD.

Anchorage S.W.A.T. practices mobile air operations with a Black Hawk helicopter, which they use to deploy to remote areas faster.
Since Anchorage is a “distance-isolated city in a distance-isolated state,” the APD relies on excellent police-community relations to accomplish the mission. There is constant demand for demonstrations from schools, youth groups and job fairs, and vehicles and K-9s are special hits with school kids. In order to maintain close public ties, the APD uses outreach teams, school resource officers and a citizen police academy to improve communication and cooperation; a volunteer Search Team helps find lost folks and search for evidence. The APD is also moving toward assigning officers to the same areas in an effort to form stronger community ties.

First things first! Check out this awesome looking trio of AR-15′s. A MEGA Arms AR-15 Pistol!?!?!? How cool is that? The AR-15 in the middle features MEGA’s new NiB Coated Monolithic Upper and NiB Coated Ambi Lower. The one on the bottom has MEGA’s Tubular Monolithic Upper. Pretty soon there will be another great option for a high end AR-15 as MEGA Arms will be selling these complete rifles starting in the second quarter of 2012.

The AWESOMENESS level of this next picture is off the charts! Check out the XS Products drum attached to the MEGA Arms MATEN .308 rifle below, the new 50 Round .308 Drum from XS Products. It’s machined to match the design of the MATEN Upper Receiver. That is one awesome looking rifle!

MEGA Arms will start producing a tubular version of their Monolithic Upper receiver this year and will offer it in NiB coating as well.

Christ Costa 1/6 Figure
私たちのブログを訪問していただきありがとうございます。あなたがお持ちの場合DIYの要求は私達に電子メールを送信してください。

The story began with a joke. Someone posts a pic of an action figure on a forum and says it looks like Costa. Yeah it was funny, but that was it…
…until the guys at Black Ops Toys saw it and it a bulb went off. They are a distributor forCaltek International, the makers of all sorts of highly accurate and collectable figures. They approached Chris Costa with the idea of making him into a limited edition 1/6th scale version of The Trainer.
The origin of the “joke” was traced back to an action figure enthusiasts forum calledonesixthwarriors.com where “Cpl Ho” originally posted a kitbash of a “MAGPUL DYNAMICS Tactical Carbine Instructor.” So “kitbashing” –seems it’s a hobby based around sourcing or making tiny clothes and gear to outfit accurate 1/6th action figures making accurate depictions of existing people or career fields. Cpl Ho made this one from an existing 1/6th figure that sorta resembled Costa and kitted it out with clothing and equipment to complete the look, all the way down to Magpul patches he made himself.

Caltek makes figures that represent all different aspects of the military experience and one area of service that they had yet to call attention to was the role of those from the private sector that give our military members the tools to fight and survive.
Costa’s aware that people are going to have mixed reactions when they hear about him being made into an action figure. “It’s not like they are making me as a navy seal or something, I’m being represented exactly as I am; as a trainer”
“Who could say no,” said Costa during an interview this afternoon, “Anyone that knows me, knows that I am just a big kid and this was just to much to pass up.”

Costa tells me that although he’s flattered to have been chosen as the subject for this figure, he’s most excited for his kids and his parents to see him as an action figure. “I know I gave my folks hell when I was in school and my dad was pissed when I got out of the Coast Guard.” But, seeing his son turned into an action figure should make him proud of what his son has grown into and done for his country.
It’s surreal, he says, to see himself in perfect 1/6th scale all the way down to the scar on his forehead he got from a childhood accident. “I have not taken the pants off my own figure,” he says, “I feel like I’m touching something real. I’d rather dress my kids.”
The figure is fully kitted just like Chris Costa in real life. The detail is incredible all the way down to the fuzzy lining and working zippers on his fleece to the logos on the gear he’s wearing. He’s outfitted with an Arc’teryx Hyllus hoody, Arc’teryx Raider pants, Oakley LSA boots, a Costa Ludus long sleeve T-shirt, an Ares Gear Ranger Belt with a Raven Concealment Phantom holster, and because occupational safety matters, Oakley Flak Jackets with VR28 lenses and MSA-Sordin Earpro.
Caltek is still a few months from finishing the entire project; they are still working on a few things like Costa’s Nighthawk 1911 and a Larue OBR Hybrid rifle. But, the figure will be up for preorder sometime next week.
