Ohio Ordnance Works M240 7.62×51mm

Select-fire machine gun for serious precision firepower!

The patented Selective Fire M240 Trigger Group is in the process of being approved for military service.

Having been introduced in 1958, the Mitrailleuse a gas (machinegun by gas) or MAG 58, the meaning is this acronym was later changed to the more suitable Mitrailleuse d’Appui General (general purpose machinegun). Now, more than fifty years later, this “Rolex” of 7.62×51mm NATO belt-fed machinegun design is used by countries the world over—including a few using unlicensed copies accomplished by reverse engineering the gun.

Ohio Ordnance Works has developed a selective fire trigger group that would allow any M240 or MAG 58 variant to fill a semi-automatic role, instantly transitioning to that of a GPMG by just changing a selector lever.

Unlike a number of successful general-purpose machine guns before it, the MAG 58 operates by a long-stroke gas piston using a toggle locking system that amounts to an inverted bolt group used in the Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR). The belt feed is a typical shuttle type, operated by a camming groove in the top of the bolt. By merely changing the feed tray, the MAG 58 will use continuous or disintegrating links. Not lightweight, the MAG 58 weighs 26 pounds without accessories.

The U.S. adopted the MAG 58 in the mid-1980’s as the M240 GPMG, and currently uses it in seven variations (including with suffixes, i.e., M240B, C, D, G, H and L—depending on which branch of the service, accessories, special applications & etc.). The M240 has all but completely replaced the M60 GPMG in the U.S. military, and is increasingly seen in the arsenals of federal and larger law enforcement agencies, especially where harbor security is a factor.

The OOW M240 Select Fire Trigger Group (above) is seen with a standard M240 full automatic only trigger group. The OOW’s settings are clearly marked.

SRM 1216 Bullish Heat

私たちのブログを訪問していただきありがとうございます。あなたがお持ちの場合DIYの要求は私達に電子メールを送信してください。

Dial up 16 rounds of 12-gauge semi-auto hurt with SRM’s scattergun!

SRM’s 1216 combat shotgun has a semi-bullpup design to keep its overall length down. Its semi-auto action is fed with a rotating four-tube magazine, which offers 16 shells of firepower with a simple twist. Ken MacSwan Photo

If you asked me to list the characteristics of the perfect combat shotgun, they would include semi-automatic operation so that I did not have to work a slide action, compact overall length so it could be used from within a vehicle or in a confined space, fast-handling and fast operating to allow multiple shots on a target quickly, usable sights, and high magazine capacity without a protruding box magazine or overly long magazine tube. By enumerating those characteristics, you’ve just read the full description of the SRM 1216 combat shotgun.

One sight option for the SRM 1216 is an AR-15/M16-type carry handle rear sight, which you can move along the top rail.

When the test SRM 1216 arrived from SRM Arms, I thought it was interesting. But after some range time the word interesting was upgraded to outstanding! It’s hit the range with me three times, and each time I shoot the SRM 1216 I am more impressed. Everyone else who has handled it—including friends in the military and tactical law enforcement—has also given the weapon very high marks.

Align the mag properly when reloading. This becomes second nature with practice.

A bullpup design, the SRM 1216 is only 32.5 inches in overall length yet has a civilian-legal 18-inch barrel. Despite its compactness, its detachable, rotary, high-capacity magazine allows it to carry 16 rounds of 12-gauge 2¾- or 3-inch shotgun ammunition. Its action is roller-delayed blowback, which allows for very fast cycling—think Benelli fighting shotgun speed of cycling. An integrated Mil-Std-1913 Picatinny rail allows use of an M16-type carry handle or various sights, while side rails allow the mounting of illuminators.

With mild recoil and a short overall length, the 1216 is easy to position and engage.

Masterpiece Arms Protector II Pistol

私たちのブログを訪問していただきありがとうございます。あなたがお持ちの場合DIYの要求は私達に電子メールを送信してください。

Masterpiece Arms have updated their .380 ACP Protector pistol adding a few new features.

Coyote Brown Slide Finish

A beavertail was added to the pistol to eliminate any slide bite and enhance the overall grip-ability of the pistol. New square serrations on the stainless and 4140 black steel slides built from a solid billet, provide a more positive grip, with or without gloves, when racking the slide. Barrel porting significantly reduces the felt recoil by bleeding gas from the barrel when the weapon is fired. Finally, fully machined aluminum grips, hardcoat anodized, are included on the Stainless, Premium and Coyote Brown models.
