Wilson Combat: Contemporary Classic Centennial

私たちのブログを訪問していただきありがとうございます。あなたがお持ちの場合DIYの要求は私達に電子メールを送信してください。

In 2011, Wilson Combat® will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the gun that helped build our company and the American genius that invented it, John Moses Browning.

Browning was the greatest firearms designer the world has ever known and the 1911 handgun is arguably his best effort. Designed in a time when electricity was still new and automobiles were a rare sight- the 1911 is a true engineering masterpiece that has not only withstood the test of time, but also evolved into what many consider the ultimate fighting pistol.

When considering a special gun to pay tribute to this important anniversary and this extraordinary man, we wondered what would John Moses Browning create today if he had Wilson Combat® engineering and manufacturing quality at his disposal and the benefit of seeing how his creation had evolved in the last century?

Using the same materials Browning would have used in his era like forged and billet machined carbon steels, select walnut for grips and painstakingly hand-finished bone charcoal blue from Doug Turnbull, Wilson Combat® has built a modern version of what Browning might have originally envisioned with his 1911-The New Wilson Combat® Contemporary Classic.

Limited to 100 serial numbered pieces in 2011, the Contemporary Classic is hand crafted with turn-of-the-century materials and finish-with many Wilson enhanced performance options to suit the modern shooter. Custom features abound-and they all have a practical purpose-fine checkering fore and aft for enhanced grip, better sights with a gold bead insert front blade, and better ergonomic controls like a beavertail grip safety that will make this an easier pistol to shoot well than an original-especially for more than a handful of rounds. A fine presentation case is included to protect and display your investment.

Browning's original features still remain like an integral lanyard loop attachment for field use and flat mainspring housing and long, steel trigger that will still fit most hands perfectly a century later. They added their carry cuts to the front of the slide in deference to Browning's second greatest handgun design, the GP-35 or "Hi-Power", a feature that gives the slide a distinctive silhouette and enables easy holstering. You will also note the "JMB" initials and unique serial number, a lasting tribute to the "Maestro" on every gun.

LaRue Tactical HandStop and IndexClip Combo

私たちのブログを訪問していただきありがとうございます。あなたがお持ちの場合DIYの要求は私達に電子メールを送信してください。

The Ultimate Upgrade for those who don't prefer a Vertical Grip.

We introduced these slide-on HandStops in the Fall of 2008, and have been refining them ever since. We ended up with a simple, robust and economical solution. The one-piece design has no moving parts to break, or seams to rub against. Once installed in position (they fit snugly anywhere on the rail), these devices add structure optimally to the hand, providing better support, recoil management and overall control of the rifle. Giving the rail physical obstructions also keep the support-hand intuitively in proper position, and away from dangerous SBR muzzles and hot barrels. Installation is as simple as sliding in place, and locking in position with two IndexClips.

IndexClips

These handy low-profile clips were designed to be attached on the rail, against optics, lasers and other MIL-STD-1913 mounted accessories, providing a quick-index to return to the same point...especially in the dark. Each set comes complete with 72 total clips, 60 regular and 12, designed to hold tapeswitch wires along the rail's edge. LaRue IndexClips are easy to install, and stay-put until pried off (a Dillo's foot works really well for this). Several clips in a row can be used to protect a length of rail, and feature a non-slip surface.

Sopmod Semi-Auto Mod

私たちのブログを訪問していただきありがとうございます。あなたがお持ちの場合DIYの要求は私達に電子メールを送信してください。

More photos one modding an airsoft gun to disable full auto firing. The same process with the Scar-H (as previously posted), just mod the selector plate and its done.

The process

First we used a heat gun for the thread lock to melt

Removing the screws on the buffer tube

Melting the solders on the battery contact assembly

Again using the heat gun for the buffer tube ring's thread lock

After that, removing the motor

Sliding the upper assembly to get into the motor

Removing the selector plate for modification

This is the Sopmod's selector plate. We will dremmel or shave off the part in red. This will prevent the cut-off lever from dis-engaging.

The dremmel process

Before and after (left to right)

Shown here in semi-auto mode, cut-off lever is in down position which means it is ready to cut the current after one cycle.

Shown here in full-auto mode. Cut-off lever stays in down position thereby no current cut-ff is still on and no full-auto.

Rampart Pictures has just published a new promotional video they produced for Barrett Firearms. If you like .50 caliber action, check out the video. I especially enjoyed watching the .50 being used at a aerial-operations training facility.
