KAC’s SR-25 U.S. SPEC OPS

With the BulletFlight iPod app, marksmen have 900M, cold-bore accuracy in the palm of their hands!

The semi-automatic action allows operators to engage multiple targets. Its similarity in appearance to a standard M-16 diminishes the likelihood of an enemy’s observation of a sniper’s presence during insertions with friendly patrols.

The SR-25 is the weapon platform that ushered in, or was rather a product of, a paradigm shift in the U.S. military’s thinking on sniper weapons. KAC’s (Knight’s Armament Company) SR-25 system has come to the battlefield and provides U.S. Special Operations Forces an accurate, semi-automatic platform with bolt-gun accuracy on multiple targets out to 800 meters, and eliminates the need for snipers to carry a defensive second rifle. Built into the familiar Stoner/AR design, the SR-25 can deliver five shots in five seconds and carries a 20-round magazine, thus surpassing the bolt-action rifle in both rate and duration of fire.

Chambered for the 7.62×51mm (.308) round, the SR-25’s design is both an extension of existing weapons development and a radical step forward. To support and extend the rifle’s battlefield sustainability, 60% of the parts are interchangeable with the AR-15/M16 system. Significant changes begin with the free-floating, match grade barrel that is now delivered in a 20-inch Obermeyer steel alloy and 16-inch chrome plated versions capable of sustained .5 MOA accuracy. The rotating bolt and direct-impingement gas system is based on Eugene Stoner’s designs and evolved further by C. Reed Knight, Jr. In order to both protect the free-floating barrel and accommodate sighting and rail mounted devices, KAC developed the Rail Adapter System II Upper Receiver Extension (RASIIURX). While slight variations exist between the Army, Navy and Marine Corp packages, the SR-25 system is typically outfitted with the 3.5-10×40mm Leupold Mk IV mil-dot scope, Harris bipod and KAC QD suppressor. Variants delivered to U.S. forces include more than 3,000 of the U.S. Army’s M110 SASS (Semi-Automatic Sniper System) and the 3,500 of U.S. Navy’s and Marine Corp’s Mk 11 Mod 0, 1&2. These deliveries are not only for use in the scout/sniper ranks, but are also finding themselves in the grateful hands of an increasing number of Designated Marksmen. Other branches of the U.S. government including the Department of State and Department of Energy have also adopted versions for their respective missions. Both in the hands of the trained sniper and the Designated Marksman, the SR-25 variants have seen direct action with Allied forces for more than six years. David Jones, a retired SEAL sniper who carried the Mk11 Mod 0 throughout two tours in Afghanistan, consistently had 1MOA accuracy out to 1,100 yards.

Firefight Transitions

私たちのブログを訪問していただきありがとうございます。あなたがお持ちの場合DIYの要求は私達に電子メールを送信してください。

Life-saving time and space management skills for switching from long gun to handgun and back again!

With practice, transitioning from your long gun to handgun can be accomplished very quickly. Here, the handgun is on target as the long gun is being slung. Taking a knee can also make you a smaller target as you fix your primary weapon.

It doesn’t take a brilliant strategist to realize that a long gun, such as an AR-15 or a shotgun, is typically preferable to a handgun in a gunfight. Superior ballistic performance and enhanced accuracy make the long gun your “primary” weapon, but there are bound to be times when it’s necessary to transition to your handgun.

When your primary weapon malfunctions or runs empty within your effective handgun range, you’re better off engaging the threat with your handgun than trying to fix your long gun. In a close-quarter environment, you might opt to transition from a fully functional long gun to a handgun for its maneuverability, which makes it easier to negotiate corners without the gun preceding your movement. The handgun, even at the ready, also affords you a free hand with which to open doors, move obstacles or fight. In any case, you need to be well versed in transitioning from one weapon to another to afford yourself every advantage during a high-stress encounter.

If in the event your long gun malfunctions and leaves you vulnerable, to transition without a sling, simply pull the long gun in close to your body while drawing your handgun.

Sling Considerations

There are several types of slings on the market. Two of the most popular and practical slings are the single-point and the two-point styles. As their name implies, single-point slings have only one point of contact to the weapon, which is typically attached to an aftermarket receiver plate. Two-point slings are usually affixed to sling mounts positioned along the barrel and stock, or strapped around the stock itself.

CQ-Flash

私たちのブログを訪問していただきありがとうございます。あなたがお持ちの場合DIYの要求は私達に電子メールを送信してください。

Airsoft life in Germany is a little bit of a bummer. It seems that you cannot attach real tactical lights in your airsoft gun.

In that case, we have 2 boxes of CQ-Flash that we intend to be disabled into non-working dummies. It is such a waste but airsoft players want to look cool, even to the extent of using dummy lights. Well, I also have dummer peq lasers on mine so why not them also.

So, to our friends in Germany, enjoy these tactical lights!

Offset Sight Systems

私たちのブログを訪問していただきありがとうございます。あなたがお持ちの場合DIYの要求は私達に電子メールを送信してください。

Rock-solid canted optical/sight sets that bridge the gap between long range and CQB!

A canted sight system gives you the ability to instantaneously switch from a longer-range optic to a close-range CQB sight.

For a law enforcement officer, the issue of setting up a patrol long gun raises several questions. Will it be used primarily (or even exclusively) for CQB/entry duties, or will you be faced with longer-range shots, pushing into the realm of the precision rifle? Do you want basic iron sights or a red dot unit for ultra-close-range engagements, or a magnified sight for the precision work?

Well, one solution is to have both. Simply put, there is a growing trend with serious long gun shooters for having a combination of these two types of sighting systems through the use of offset (canted) sighting systems. In the next couple of pages, we’ll consider different canted sight platforms and how to use them to your benefit.
